EDUARDO CERVANTES: AN EXEMPLARY NETWORK TECHNOLOGIST OF THIS CENTURY

Firewalls have a long history of being a common protective measure to filter out harmful traffic. By figuring out where the traffic originates and where it goes on ports, it can monitor and manage data flow. Firewalls used to be actual appliances attached to a company’s on-premise infrastructure. Depending on a set of internal regulations, it either allowed or disallowed network traffic. But the world has changed, and everything is now fully digitised.

However, the arrival of cloud computing resulted in a new wave. The digital upgrade introduced on-premise firewalls and they completely changed network security. Companies need a breakthrough to safeguard their network and security since it is becoming increasingly difficult to improve inspection bandwidth and threat prevention in the face of varying network and security setups. On-site virtual firewalls can offer the necessary scalability, flexibility, and agility.

Taking this a step further and automating it allows users to manage cloud speed and scalability. Eduardo Cervantes, a multi-lingual technologist, has set a benchmark in auto-scaling virtual firewalls. Through his cybersecurity firm Corsa Security, he helps businesses struggling to scale network security utilizing zero-touch network security technology.

THE LYNCHPIN TO GLORY

Eduardo Cervantes has more than 20 years of experience and has amassed an exceptional background in SaaS, cloud computing, and investment banking. His skillful blending of diverse experience enabled him to grow mid-sized businesses into sector leaders, such as ClearPath Technologies, Password Bank, and Panda Security. He co-founded the software-defined network business Corsa Security in 2013. Although they were equipped with the advancements, it was not focused on a use case. Cervantes launched the second iteration of his startup, focusing on assisting 5G customers in inspecting traffic at high speeds. With a top-tier management team and reliable technological partners, they quickly made sure there was an immediately responsive market.

This aided in constructing the road to glory. Today, Corsa’s solution shines out for scaling network security fast, simply, and effectively. It helps enterprises, network operators, managed security service providers (MSSPs), and any owner of a sizable network who has trouble scaling network security and has private network barriers that impede business agility. Their solutions allow clients to monitor traffic at speeds of up to 2-3 terabytes per second by clustering and managing a sizable range of virtual firewalls.

A NECESSARY PROBLEM-SOLVER

The usage of software firewalls rather than hardware firewalls has been the most disruptive technological development in the on-premise firewall market. This is being pushed by the digital revolution of key network providers. Understanding that 5G requires very quick data inspection in order to protect users from malware exposure without causing sluggish network speeds is crucial. This inspection has hitherto been done using costly, cramped, and limited hardware systems.

Corsa pioneers this system by employing software firewalls. At a tenth of the expense of hardware deployment, it makes the most efficient use of software firewalls to enhance flexibility and speed. Its services include automating managed virtual firewall service, updating network firewalls, scaling virtual firewall clusters, traffic monitoring, and enhancing threat protection. Additionally, it provides proprietary security solutions designed solely for huge corporations, SPs, and MSSPs. In conclusion, Corsa Security is an affordable one-stop shop for automating network security virtualization.

STRONGLY BACKED BY R&D

Given how revolutionary Corsa’s network scaling technology is, it is evident that the firm has made a considerable investment in R&D. According to Cervantes, their presence is a result of investments in R&D. “We continue to increase our R&D investments because we are dealing with fast-moving technologies,” he continues. This offers them a significant competitive advantage and elevates them to the top of their field. Last-mile networks like 5G are operating at breakneck speed, and Corsa Security works to offer a turnkey solution that is dependable, secure, and efficient while being customised to the particular need.

Constantly increasing R&D spending also helps to balance out uncertainty. Since they strive to enhance traffic inspection efficiency, they continue to expand even during economic downturns as their clients try to get more done with less.

EDUARDO CERVANTES – LEADING WITH A STRATEGIC OUTLOOK

People are the foundation of innovation. In the end, breakthroughs are produced by individuals. Knowing this, Cervantes positions himself as a visionary. Given that his business aims to redefine network security, he concentrates on fostering innovation and creating an atmosphere where people are motivated to work hard, be self-reliant, and advance their own ideas. He focuses the team’s efforts on maximising core competencies by emphasising strategic productivity. This forces everyone on board to relentlessly concentrate on execution quality.

His leadership style reveals a lot about the kinds of individuals he enjoys working with. According to him, Corsa places focus on people with these qualities: the ability to think strategically and realistically; a leaning toward action; a great communicator with initiative and follow-through; and a bent toward action. Last but not least, but equally important, is their technological expertise. The result of all of this is constant innovation, partnerships, and constant nimbleness.

MILESTONES TO BE PROUD OF

Although Corsa has been on the market for about ten years, its second iteration has served as its lynchpin. According to Cervantes, “This was a business that had fallen on hard times.” He has assisted Corsa in becoming a torchbearer by recapitalizing, employing, and keeping top executives as well as seeing through the implementation of go-to-market plans and products. He is also proud of co-founding Clearpath Technologies, one of the first advanced analytics businesses with a SaaS business model to be developed in the public cloud. He declares with pride that “the company successfully exited to a Fortune 100 acquisition.”

The goal that Cervantes has set for himself is to reach many more heights. He sees Corsa as a crucial component of the top 100 telcos’ 5G security posture. On the other side, he wants to step up their R&D efforts to enhance inspection performance while cutting costs. He adds, “I envision a future where our technology is entirely artificial intelligence-driven and requires no human contact.”

A NOTE FROM THE CEO

“Excellent performance management will result in faultless execution. The key is to pick a large expanse of the cyber security industry where there is an unmet demand or problem, and where one can add value due to one’s skills and experience.”
